Privacy Policy for Website, Account and Call Data

This policy explains what information we collect from website visitors, customer practices and callers, and how we use it. Read the handling and retention details, then try the demo with fictional information.

Who operates this service

TypeScience, trading as Chiropractic Answering Service, operates this website and AI receptionist service. This policy covers information collected through our website, account setup, browser demo and service calls. We provide front-desk call handling for chiropractic and physical therapy practices.

Our help email is [email protected], and our privacy email is [email protected]. Use the privacy address for questions about personal information or requests concerning it. We do not publish a street address or provide a phone sales line.

Your role and your callers' information

Your practice decides what caller information is collected and why when you use our receptionist for your business. We process that caller information on your practice's behalf. Data processing terms form part of the agreement for the service.

We also collect information about customers who open accounts and people who visit our website. That account and website information supports signup, billing, setup and use of our website. A person calling your office has a different relationship with us from the person who manages your subscription.

Account details and billing

We collect account information including your name, business name, email address and phone number. These details identify the practice using the service and provide contact information for account support. Signing in begins with an email sign-in link.

Our payment processor handles billing information, and we do not store full card numbers. Your subscription includes monthly billing and any applicable overage minutes. The payment processing category of service providers supports that billing activity.

Setup information you give us

We collect the answers you provide during onboarding and the content from the website you direct us to use. This information teaches your receptionist your services, hours, service area, price policy and call handling instructions. You also supply the people and order to use for urgent call routing.

Your settings continue to shape how the receptionist handles calls after setup. You can change them by telling the AI what you want in plain words. Review the business information you provide so callers receive instructions that reflect your practice's current policies.

Call information we collect

We collect caller numbers, call audio, recordings, transcripts and summaries from calls handled through the service. The receptionist begins each call with a virtual-assistant disclosure and recording notice. Those opening notices cannot be disabled.

Calls, website and demo chats, recordings, transcripts and summaries of trial and customer accounts may be reviewed by authorized staff for quality, support and abuse prevention. Access is limited to those purposes.

Call information supports messages, appointment handling, urgency flags and routing according to your instructions. Your dashboard shows call records, and alerts arrive through email and app push notification. A daily digest email also brings call information to your practice.

Browser demo and website chats

We record and transcribe demo calls and chats on this site to show you the result. The browser demo is available without signup. Use fictional patient information when testing appointment requests, insurance questions or other demo scenarios.

The demo is a way to hear the receptionist and inspect what it captures from a conversation. It should not be used to submit a real patient's clinical history. Our health information position is the pending status (no business associate agreement is in place); until that status is set, the service must not be used with protected health information.

Website analytics and cookies

We collect website analytics to understand use of this site. Our analytics include privacy-friendly analytics and Google Analytics. Google Analytics uses cookies.

Website analytics concern visits to our site, while call records concern conversations handled by the receptionist. Both are categories covered by this policy. You can email our privacy contact with questions or an opt-out request concerning your information.

Providers involved in processing

We use service providers for hosting and storage, telephone carriers, AI models for voice and text, payment processing, email delivery and analytics. These categories support different parts of operating the website and receptionist. For example, telephone carriers support calls, while email delivery supports account and call emails.

AI model providers process voice and text used by the service. The AI model provider, OpenAI, does not use our API data to train its models by default. That default describes model training; AI processing still occurs when the receptionist handles a conversation.

Personal information and marketing

We never sell personal information. We also never use callers' data for our own marketing. A caller's request to your practice is processed for your practice's call handling purposes.

Consent-based follow-up is a separate optional service for your business's web form inquiries. It requires a consent box naming your business, and you are responsible for the consent records. We do not offer purchased-list dialing or cold calls.

How long records remain

Recordings remain for the period your business chooses, either 30 or 90 days, and are then deleted. This choice applies to stored recordings. A transcript and a summary are separate records with a different retention schedule.

Transcripts and summaries are kept while the account is open. We delete them within 30 days after the account closes or on request. Send requests about retention or deletion to our privacy email and describe the information involved.

Access, correction, deletion and opt-out

You can request access to your information, correction, deletion or an opt-out by emailing [email protected]. California residents have rights where they apply. Use this address for privacy questions about your account, website activity or calls handled for a practice.

Callers can send a request to the business they called or directly to us. Because the practice decides the purpose and scope of caller data collection, identify that practice when describing a call request. Include enough context to explain what information you want accessed, corrected or deleted.

Children and policy updates

Our website and service are not for children under 13. The product is offered to businesses arranging reception for their practices. Use made-up details when exploring the site rather than submitting a child's personal information in the demo.

We date changes to this privacy policy on this page. The update date identifies the version you are reading. You can review the service terms and data responsibilities or contact us about a privacy question before setting up your practice.
